Another Failed Novel that Became My First Published Book
This is the synopsis of a novel that didn't work back in 2022: When Bondye, the supreme creator god, asks the spider spirit Kenbe La to help create a disease, she has no choice but to agree. Over the course of the next 40 years, she will carry out her task by mounting multiple “horses” while questioning her role in human suffering of body, mind, and spirit.
Vèvè-Punk: Birth of the Dream is available for pre-order now and will be released 2/6/2026 in paperback and 2/9/2026 in eBook.
By the way I'm doing a 2+ hour livestream THIS THURSDAY NIGHT around 11PM EST to celebrate the launch.
This will be on YouTube and Twitch. See you there, bring your questions and comments if you got em, or post here!
What if gods became corporations—and your soul was their currency?
In Dominick Rabrun’s debut Afrofuturist short story collection:
Behold Fabienne, whose singing births spots of madness on her audience’s skin—and ignites revolution in pre-revolutionary Haiti.
Behold Louis, a boy hacking a supernatural stock exchange through his game console—before his mother trades away her soul.
Behold Adam, death’s favorite driver, who can slip between worlds but can’t outrun what he owes.
Behold Ednice, dead but not gone, smuggling forbidden stories through an afterlife run by an authoritarian god. From the spark of the Haitian Revolution to a tech-noir future where dying is just another subscription service, these ten illustrated stories weave a tapestry of rebellion, grief, and transformation. When gods become corporations, can your soul ever truly be your own?
Behold Vèvè-Punk: Birth of the Dream.
