Job Title: sound designer (contract)

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Sound Designer to join our team for the initial 2-month vertical slice development phase, with potential for an extended 10-month contract for full-game development afterward. The ideal candidate will create immersive audio environments, atmospheric sound effects, and engaging music that enhance narrative and gameplay.

rESPONSIBILITIES

  • Design and produce high-quality sound effects, ambient audio, and music to enhance immersion and storytelling.

  • Collaborate closely with the Director, Narrative Designer, Programmer, and Art team to ensure audio aligns seamlessly with visual and narrative elements.

  • Create and integrate audio assets into Unity, ensuring they function optimally within the game.

  • Participate in regular team meetings, provide progress updates, and promptly address any audio-related issues.

  • Assist in building a polished, cohesive demo suitable for showcasing to potential publishers and funders.

Requirements

  • Demonstrable professional experience in sound design for games in  Unity.

  • Strong proficiency in audio software and sound production techniques.

  • Proactive, clear, and professional communication skills; willingness to actively participate in collaborative team problem-solving.

  • Reliable and accountable, delivering tasks on schedule and communicating proactively about any delays.

  • Comfortable working in a remote team environment (EST), with availability for meetings typically between 5 PM-9 PM weekdays and 10 AM-5 PM weekends.

  • Passion for storytelling, historical narratives, and creating deeply immersive auditory experiences.
